AME is pleased to announce our latest online MEAC approved continuing education series for midwives and educators: “Supporting Best Practices in Midwifery Education,” 3 separate courses for a total of 8 continuing education hours (0.8 CEUs). These courses have been approved by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC) for continuing education for Certified Professional Midwives. Choose one course, or take all 3 “bundled” courses together to save money.
Individual Courses
Part 1: Meeting the needs of adult learners (2.5 CE hours)
How to apply theories and principles of adult learning to curriculum, program design, clinical and classroom learning and meet the needs of diverse learners.
Part 2: Student assessment: You taught it but did they learn it (3 CE hours)
Assessment tools that are fair, objective, accurate, valid, reliable; constructing effective test questions; norm and criterion referencing; learning management systems and test banking.
Part 3: Ethics and Social Justice in midwifery education (2.5 CE hours)
Creating a socially conscious educational environment, applying principles of social justice to midwifery care within the context of the US health care system, moving individuals and institutions toward a culture of inclusivity.
